“Photography is a way of feeling, of touching, of loving. What you have caught on film is captured forever… It remembers little things, long after you have forgotten everything.” -Aaron Siskind
About the artist
Hi, my name is Toki and I am a portrait photographer based in Southern California known for my joyful and vibrant images. I love connecting with people and hearing their stories. 16 years ago, I was diagnosed with breast cancer, and my camera became my lifesaving force during a vulnerable and frightening period of my life. Making photographs of people, places and things uplifted me and kept me focused on the beauty around me. Eventually I healed and became a mother to my twin boys who are the loves of my life! I am emotionally connected and passionate about making portraits because I know how remarkable photographs are. I am deeply grateful and proud to be in a profession that touches others in a powerful way and allows me to leave a small mark in this world.
